Welcome to Stephanie’s blog

Starting again in 2016

My blog posts petered out last year as other things in life needed my attention, but I’ve decided to forgive myself for that ‘failure’ and just to start again. My diary for 2 January was marked ‘A1’ which prompted me that I could just start at the beginning again. So here goes …

I expect that the emphasis will remain on matters spiritual, with a definite Quaker emphasis, a somewhat Buddhist perspective, an Interfaith context, a background of Girl Guiding and the occasional intrusion of Multiple Sclerosis.

A Quaker Blog for 2015

Having found the challenge of writing every week such a helpful discipline, I’m continuing in 2015, starting back at A. I anticipate that this year’s blog may take a wider interfaith perspective, but maybe I’ll just see how it goes.

Quaker Buddhist Blog 2014
I found the challenge of writing every week in 2013 a useful spiritual discipline and have decided to continue, but with a somewhat different focus by taking a Buddhist perspective (though it will be coloured by my Quakerism).

Quaker Blog Project 2014The challenge of writing an alphabetic Quaker blog for 2014 has been taken up by several people. If you enjoyed the 2013 project, you may also enjoy reading the 2014 posting from other Quakers – I’m certainly looking forward to reading them.
There’s more information at the facebook group and I’ll add the links to the other blogs on my homepage.
If you’d like to join in, we’d all be delighted. Just set up a blog, set your own target, and let us know where to read it.

Quaker Blog Project 2013
Could you think of two Quaker topics for each letter of the alphabet, and would you be able to write something once a week, thereby blogging weekly for a year? That was the question that started this of.
I like a challenge, a bit of discipline, and talking about Quakerism. I could think of lots of topics for most letters, so I was persuaded to give it a go …

  1. I am nominating you for the Liebster Blog Award. If you are not keen on participating, that’s fine, because I know that not everyone is keen on these awards. However, I wanted to show my appreciation for your blog and share you with others.

    • Thanks Phyllis, the thought is appreciated. Some credit needs to go to Rhiannon, it was she who proposed the Quaker alphabet project and recruited Gill and myself.

  2. Dear Stephanie,

After meeting so many Meditating/Buddhist Quakers, some of us met at YMG this year and agreed to start a simple online forum where we can chat – away from the noise of social media.

At the moment, we are just checking in and introducing ourselves. If you are interested in the overlap, then please do visit and introduce yourself. I’ve included the website address in the form below.

    In Friendship, and with Metta,
    Pierre.

    • Thanks for the invitation Pierre, I’ve checked in and introduced myself as this is very much within my area of interest. YMG was great, but I was taking care to pace myself and avoid the temptation to do too much.
